RecycleMax.com is a pioneering provider of comprehensive waste recycling and disposal services, with over three decades of experience in delivering innovative solutions to commercial, industrial, and institutional customers across the US. As we embark on an exciting new phase of growth, we are developing cutting-edge digital technology platforms with a strong emphasis on Generative AI to revolutionize the waste management industry globally.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the development of our digital technology platforms. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a startup mindset, able to leverage their expertise in technology and innovation to drive our digital transformation. This role will require a dynamic leader who can balance long-term vision with hands-on execution, ensuring that our technology strategy aligns with our business goals and growth objectives. While our HQ office is in Detroit and it would be ideal to have our CTO here, we’re open to other US-based candidates who can work remotely and periodically come to Detroit for key meetings.

Technology Strategy and Vision:

Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that supports RecycleMax’s business objectives and growth plans.
Lead the development and integration of our digital platforms, with a strong focus on Generative AI and other advanced technologies.
Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends that can enhance our service offerings and operational efficiency.

Leadership and Team Management:

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. We currently have an all-remote team of 6 developers in India.
Provide strategic direction and oversight for all technology-related projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, and operations, to ensure alignment and support for technology initiatives.

Product Development and Innovation:

Drive the design, development, and deployment of scalable and robust digital solutions, including web and mobile applications.
Oversee the development of AI-driven solutions to optimize recycling processes, improve customer experience, and drive operational efficiency.
Ensure that our technology infrastructure is secure, scalable, and capable of supporting our growth trajectory.

Operational Excellence:

Implement best practices for software development, project management, and technology operations.
Manage technology budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure optimal allocation and utilization.
Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor and measure the effectiveness and impact of technology initiatives.

Customer and Market Focus:

Work closely with customers, partners, and stakeholders to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into the technology roadmap.
Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to ensure RecycleMax remains at the forefront of innovation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a CTO or in a similar senior technology leadership role, preferably within a startup or high-growth environment.
Deep understanding and experience with Generative AI and other advanced technologies.
Strong technical expertise in software development, architecture, and infrastructure.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to think strategically while maintaining a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex technology projects on time and within budget.
Experience with agile development methodologies and a strong focus on user-centric design.
Based in or willing to relocate to the Detroit, Michigan area.
