IT System Administrator/Programmer

Job Description

Troubleshoots and solves various technology and network hardware and software related problems. Tests, implements and maintains business technology solutions. Develop, write and maintain computer programs to display, store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data and information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Install, configure, maintain and administer various server and workstation operating systems, managing Active Directory and roaming profiles
Install, configure and maintain various server and/or workstation based business related software applications
Install, configure and maintain network hardware and software, both hardwired and wireless communications for all business technology, including handheld scanners, laptops, cell phones and others
Review technology related problems and recommend solutions based on review of technical publications, existing knowledge, and collaboration with others as required
Based on instructions and specifications, develop, write and maintain computer software code to display, store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data and information
Maintain and enhance corporate website based on detailed specifications
Manage corporate MS SQL database using proper database management techniques
Manage system backup and recovery systems
Develop and maintain internal technical and user documentation
Train and instruct end users on the proper use of business technology products, both hardware and software
Work closely with Vice-President/CIO on projects as required
Demonstrate ability to deal tactfully, patiently, and respectfully with co-workers and customers
Remain flexible enough to assist, as directed, with performing other miscellaneous tasks that may arise in the course of daily work schedules
This position requires that an individual show personal initiative and continually prepare and train for new business technology. Review technical publications and articles to stay abreast of developments in the industry

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Close attention to detail is essential
Proficiency in installation, setup and maintenance of technology networking products, for hardware, software and protocols including SMTP concepts
Coding and concepts proficiency in .Net, HTML, C# and SQL query
Database management concepts
Software: MS Windows 10 & 11, MS Server 2012, 2016, 2019 & 2022, MS Exchange Server, MS SQL, SSMS, SSRS, SharePoint, Symantec Endpoint Protection, Veritas Backup Exec, Crystal Reports XI R2, MS Office 2016, Epicor E10 ERP or Kinetic
Hardware: Ethernet network, Sonicwall Firewall/Router, various network switches, Cisco wireless access points, Dell servers, Dell workstations, Dell laptops, various laser printers, NComputing zero clients, Intermec/Honeywell handheld scanners, various smartphones

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Three to five years related experience
Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred
