Summary of Position:
This position supports essential business functions for Hurlbut Holdings, Inc., including its subsidiaries GLC Integrated Services and GLC Minerals. The main emphasis of this role is to pull and merge disparate data into reports and dashboards to assist internal and external customers with decision-making. This position reports to the CFO and is a key member of the Information Technology team. The Programmer Analyst works closely with Operations, Logistics, Sales, Finance, and Customer Care to provide the departments and executive leadership with critical data to run the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include the following: Duties may be modified, or additional duties assigned.
Pull and merge disparate data into reports/dashboards using tools such as SQL Reporting Services, Power BI, and Excel
Document data flows and processes as a source record for reports
Support the Company’s IT tools and applications, including the Company’s new ERP and/or manufacturing system(s)
Educate employees on the proper use of Microsoft applications according to GLC’s data management policies
Work closely with business partners to create reports including structuring large data sets to find usable/meaningful information
Improve operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability through automation of reporting systems and processes
Use graphs, charts, infographics, and other methods to visualize and present data
Proactively analyze data streams looking for outliers in trends and/or gaps in data
Work with process owners to evaluate business processes, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Information Technology with an emphasis on programming
5+ years of relevant experience
3+ years in manufacturing environment working with ERP systems desired, but not required
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products with an above average knowledge of Excel
Must be proficient in SQL Plus, .Net, Python, and JQuery
Power BI experience is a plus; minimum requirement is a strong desire and aptitude to learn and understand systems new to the employee
Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
Great analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
Strong management and organizational skills – proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects at one time
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of data gathering, cleaning, and transforming techniques
